01. What does a hygienization visit look like?
During hygienisation, at the beginning, we perform an ultrasonic removal of dental plaque (scaling). Then the tooth surfaces are sandblasted of unsightly deposits and polished with brushes, rubbers and polishing pastes. Finally, the teeth are secured with fluoride foam.
02. Why and how often should dental stone be removed?
The dental stone cleaning procedure should be performed at least once every six months.
The accumulated tartar causes pressure on the gums and the development of inflammation. The gums begin to bleed and the chronic inflammation that forms can cause bone and gum atrophy, and consequently the mobility of the teeth or even their loss.
